Fall Favorites: Bring On The Cold!
For someone who has spent most of her life in the frigid Midwest, October generally brings about the need for warmer wool jackets, fuzzy socks & burning the dust out of the furnace. Here in the Southwest I won’t be worrying about any of that anytime soon but I like to plan ahead. (What? It could happen.) And I just couldn’t help myself when, while wandering through Target, we came across this:

Fall Favorite: Missoni Infinity Scarf from Target
OMG. Love the brightly colored scarf.
I saw the ads, I thought the Missoni collection was cool, but I didn’t camp out in the parking lot at Tar-zhay so I could load a cart full and start my kids college fund by reselling it on eBay (though from all accounts, that might not have been a bad idea). So when it was all gone it was not a life changing disappointment. But you bet your Spanx I stopped to peruse when our local store had a whole rack of items right up front. At first, my love was focused on the black and white weekender bag but after reading the ginormous tag that said it contained lead(!?) and I should probably wash my hands after each use, we had to part ways.
So while admiring the colorful beauty of the scarf and imaging it with my winter-white wool pea coat, I found this …

Fall Favorite: Merona Wool Cloche Hat from Target
Love.
They don’t look like they match at all in the pictures but the vintage styled wool felt cloche hat is about the same shade of deep purple as the scarf shows above. And with an all white coat, they’ll be a nice pop of color.
What about you? Find a great hat you just had to have or a scarf you couldn’t put down? Do tell!

I had Mom make me two new infinity scarves, one in pink and one in green and she ended up making another regular scarf one in lavender. I love the infinity (or loop) scarves because they get so snugly with my neck. :-) And yes, I have had to wear them all this week because it’s cold in the Midwest. I also have a hat similar to this one but it’s pink and from Marshal Fields and is wool, as well; I call it my fancy hat. I need to get it out of it’s box and start wearing it again. We should start a group called the Fancy Hat Ladies. ;-)
I’m totally hat obsessed. Forget the shoes, bring me the hats!
Now if it would just get cold enough for me to wear them …
